Mine 2D: Survival — a complete 2D mining & survival game for the browser

Punch a tree, craft your first pickaxe, light the night with torches — and survive what comes after dark. Mine 2D: Survival is a polished, finished HTML5 game built with pure HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript. No frameworks, no game engine, no build step, no internet connection: unzip, open index.html and it runs — even straight from your desktop.

Game features

Endless procedural worlds — forests, hills, cliffs, caves and ore veins (coal → iron → gold → diamond), regenerated from a seed every new game.
Full day/night cycle — animated sun, moon, stars, clouds, birds, mist and a real-time lighting engine with torch light propagation.
Survival gameplay — mine, craft, build, eat, fight. Zombies and skeletons hunt you at night; a mysterious boss waits for you on night 2.
15 crafting recipes — planks, sticks, torches, crafting table, wooden / stone / iron / diamond tools and swords, fences and more, with a placed-table progression system.
Guided 13-step tutorial — an interactive spotlight tour that teaches new players the whole core loop in about a minute (skippable & replayable).
15-quest GOAL tracker — keeps guiding players long after the tutorial ends.
Procedural audio — every sound effect and the ambient music is synthesized live with the WebAudio API. Zero audio files, zero licensing issues.
Autosave — the world, inventory, quests and stats save automatically to localStorage; “Continue” resumes exactly where the player stopped.
Pixel-perfect UI — hand-drawn 16×16 textures, embedded pixel fonts, hearts / day widget / hotbar HUD, inventory & crafting panel, tooltips, toasts, particles, screen-shake, damage numbers and reduced-motion support.
Responsive & fullscreen ready — scales to any window size, fullscreen button built into the menu.
