Mini Farm Adventure | Browser Farming Game

Mini Farm Adventure is a browser farming game set in an illustrated homestead. Grow crops, care for animals, build farm additions, complete village orders, and earn quest rewards. Explore the farm alone or with a second local farmer, experience the day/night cycle, visit the farmhouse, and keep independent browser saves with portable JSON backups. The initial package also includes readable, unminified JavaScript for direct customization and locally bundled fonts for both the game and its documentation.

Key Features

Illustrated Farm World – Explore a sprite-based farm with animated scenery, animals, farmers, and responsive camera presentation.
Four Crop Types – Plant, water, and harvest carrots, wheat, tomatoes, and pumpkins, with crop unlocks and timed growth.
Animal Care – Feed chickens, cows, and sheep, collect eggs, milk, and wool, and expand animal-home capacity.
Farm Building – Place additions in Build Meadow, complete timed construction, and upgrade the farmhouse, barn, windmill, coop, and pen.
Orders and Quests – Complete five renewable order slots drawn from ten templates and claim rewards from twenty quests.
Farm Progression – Earn coins, wood, gems, and XP; level up and use the market for seeds, animals, feed, decorations, and bundles.
Solo and Local Co-Op – Play alone or share the same farm with a second farmer on one device.
Clock and Farmhouse – Experience day/night lighting, enter the farmhouse, and use the bedtime and sleep sequence.
Map Travel – Mark waypoints, inspect routes, run around the farm, or use animated teleport to reachable ground.
Farm Library and Backups – Keep independent browser saves and transfer farms with JSON export/import.
Player Preferences – Adjust music, effects, graphics quality, reduced motion, and hints.
Editable, Offline-Ready Package – Customize the readable game source directly, and use local fonts for both the game and guide without relying on a Google Fonts CDN.

Game Modes

Solo Farming – Explore and develop the selected saved farm with one farmer.
Local Co-Op – Two farmers share the scene, inventory, resources, orders, and farm progress on the same device.

Farm Format

Sunny Farm – The initial prepared farm begins at level 6 with resources and ready produce for exploring the systems.
Fresh Farms – Create a level 1 farm from My Farms, starting with 800 coins, 160 wood, 12 gems, seeds, feed, and the mapped starter layout.
Independent Slots – Two slots are available initially; a stored farm at level 8 unlocks a third.

Animals and Farm Life

Chickens produce eggs after a 60-second fed cycle, cows produce two milk each after 90 seconds, and sheep produce one wool each after 120 seconds. Feed the group, wait for its batch, then collect before feeding again. Upgrade the coop or pen to increase capacity. Farmers navigate around mapped obstacles, and the selected farmer performs pointer-driven tasks.

Farming Rules & Mechanics

Plant seeds into empty plots and water planted plots to begin timed growth. Harvest ready crops into inventory and earn XP.
Carrots and wheat unlock at level 1, tomatoes at level 3, and pumpkins at level 4. The mapped fields contain 18 carrot, 16 wheat, 8 tomato, and 9 pumpkin plots.
A completed level 1 windmill reduces crop duration by 15%; level 2 reduces it by 25%.
Barn capacity counts sellable crops and animal goods. Sell produce or deliver orders to free space. The barn feed action exchanges four wheat for six feed.
Accept village orders, supply their inventory requirements, earn coins and XP, then renew delivered slots. Claim completed quest rewards in the quest page.
Level-up rewards grant 100 coins and two gems. The farmhouse upgrade adds an XP multiplier; a completed Flower Garden adds a harvest XP multiplier.
The farm clock controls outdoor and interior lighting. Night Mode selects 21:00; sleep advances to 06:00 and updates applicable timed work.
Building placement checks meadow bounds, resources, level requirements, collision, paths, and entrances.

Move: WASD; arrow keys provide solo alternate movement and control the guest in local co-op.
Pointer and Touch: Click reachable ground, tap fields, select farmers, or drag the joystick for the selected farmer.
Run: Hold Shift or use the Walk / Run control.
Interact: F; Enter interacts for the guest during local co-op.
Farm Pages: B for blueprints, I for inventory, J for quests, K for animals, O for market, P for orders, M for map, and C for camera.
Placement: Mark a spot, use Enter, right-click, or Build Here to confirm; R flips the preview.
Return or Pause: Escape responds to the active map, popup, placement, selection, or farm view.

Map waypoints offer a portal control for reachable clear destinations. The camera page provides a photo download and a way to hide controls. Menus, popups, and the joystick adapt to the available viewport.

Tech Stack & Architecture

Platform – Static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript served through HTTP or HTTPS.
Presentation – A custom WebGL presenter draws the image-and-sprite scene, with a Canvas 2D fallback when WebGL context creation is unavailable.
Game Systems – The shared window.MFA namespace connects data, state, navigation, economy, quests, orders, UI, audio, farm clock, and travel.
Loading – bootstrap.js loads local scripts in order and preloads registered images, audio, and fonts.
Persistence – Local Storage holds independent farm data and preferences; farm export/import uses version 2 JSON.
Package – The playable entry point is main_file/index.html, with supporting files under main_file/script/.

Third-Party Dependencies & Libraries

Local Fonts – Anton, Barlow Condensed, Space Grotesk, Fredoka, and Lilita WOFF2 files are bundled under main_file/script/fonts/ and registered by the game CSS.
Recorded Audio – Local MP3 files provide music, ambience, footsteps, animal sounds, and effects.
Artwork – WebP scene and sprite artwork, interface images, store art, and SVG branding are supplied in the asset directories.
Licensing – Retain and confirm the applicable font, illustration, sprite, and audio rights for your intended commercial use, attribution, modification, and redistribution. Consult the original asset license or rights holder for those permissions.
Documentation – The included guide uses local CSS, bundled screenshots, and locally bundled Bricolage Grotesque, DM Sans, and DM Mono font files under documentation/assets/fonts/.
Font Licenses – Font files are accompanied by their SIL Open Font License notices and source information in the game and documentation packages.

The game and guide load their fonts from the supplied package, so font rendering does not depend on an external Google Fonts CDN.

System & Browser Requirements

Use a browser with JavaScript, Fetch, WebP/SVG images, WOFF2 fonts, Canvas, Pointer Events, HTML audio, and Local Storage.
Serve the complete main_file/ directory over HTTP or HTTPS. From Main/, run python -m http.server 8000 --bind 127.0.0.1, then open http://127.0.0.1:8000/main_file/. Python 3 is an optional local-preview tool; the game requires only static HTTP or HTTPS hosting.
Enable persistent browser storage and use farm export/import for backups or transfers between origins and devices.
The existing guide records Microsoft Edge 155.0.4283.45 on Windows at 1440 × 900 as its desktop compatibility baseline. No verified minimum versions for other browsers or mobile devices are recorded.
The game implements keyboard, mouse, and touch input. Validate the intended browser versions, device sizes, and embedding environment before publishing a compatibility policy.
A full local installation can run through a local HTTP server with the bundled game scripts, media, and fonts.
