SMS Register is a WordPress plugin for monetizing user registration. If a visitor wants to register an account on your WP website, he needs to send an SMS message following the displayed instructions. After that, he will get a reply message containing the code to enter in the appropriate field in the registration form.

This plugin supports BuddyPress and UltimateMember! You can charge registration for your BuddyPress/UltimateMember members. The plugin will recognize if BuddyPress/UltimateMember is active, and it will add a necessary field to BP/UM registration form. You also can change the style of the SMS Register field and SMS sending instructions on BuddyPress/UltimateMember registration page. How it works (SMS)?

SMS Register uses Fortumo SMS gateway for processing messages and collecting revenues. The only thing you need is a free Fortumo account and (also free) Fortumo Premium SMS service created.

IMPORTANT: Since recently, people from Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Albania, and Romania can’t create Premium SMS API service on Fortumo, so that makes this plugin useless for you. However, you can try to create a new account using a proxy or different IP (that is not from one of the listed countries).

IMPORTANT:If you want to offer services to users in Croatia (with this plugin), it is possible that your service won’t be approved in that country (because, since recently, Croatian operators banned all content related SMS services through Fortumo).

How to start?

You will need to register a (free) account on Fortumo (instructions).
Create Premium SMS service on Fortumo (instructions).
Install our plugin on your WordPress website.
If needed, submit your Fortumo service for approval, instructions here.
Start making money!

Compatibility

This plugin works with BuddyPress and UltimateMember plugins.
This plugin will work with some plugins for modifying WP registration page, tested and working with „Register Plus Redux“ plugin.
This plugin is not tested with „custom“ login forms (for example, some themes use custom login forms on the front-end).
